The series
Series X3 Queensland races Hyundai Excel X3s built between 1994 and 2000. These four-cylinder, front-wheel-drive cars produce some of the closest racing of any entry-level category, and the series is a proven first step for drivers building a career in motorsport.
A season usually runs five or six rounds at Morgan Park Raceway in Warwick and Queensland Raceway in Ipswich. Drivers also get the chance to race further afield, including the Dunlop Destiny Series, which takes Excels to Mount Panorama.
Grids regularly reach 30 to 40 cars a round. Brodie Kostecki, Broc Feeney, Nash Morris, Declan Fraser, Ryan Casha, Jarrod Hughes and Ben Bargwanna all spent time racing Excels on their way up.
The series has a Masters class too, and it's always hard fought. That's where Ian races car 50.

Where we race
The paperclip. Long straights and tight hairpins make braking and the exits everything.
A flowing country circuit with elevation, fast sweepers and plenty of passing.
Shell V-Power Motorsport Park. A modern, wide circuit with a long front straight and a technical infield.
Australia's most famous circuit. Up the Mountain, across the top and down Conrod Straight.
Watch us race
Most of our rounds stream live, and Bathurst went out on national TV through Kayo and Fox Sports. Follow along on YouTube and Facebook.
